Edmonton has a regional airport. Its called the Edmonton International Airport.
YXD should've have been shut down in 1963. We also voted to shut it down in 1992? But yet you CAANA folks keep bringing up this issue.
You folks are so silly. Comparing Edmonton to Calgary is fine, but remember, those Leduc numbers? They're part of Edmontons success. Leduc is a strong part of the Edmonton region. Check the map.

I enjoy seeing you waste money in the newspaper.

YXD will be shut down, and you can cry all the rivers you want, but your better served at YEG anyways.

In 1967, 1971, 1981, 1992 and 1995 Edmonton City Council confirmed that the Edmonton City Centre Airport (YXD) show continue as an airport because it was the highest and best use. In every case except 1992, Edmonton City Council initiated the question. Consultants, Transport Canada and citizens of Edmonton have all been asked the question about the airport and all have said that it should remain open as an airport. It is time that Edmonton City Council stopped asking and committed to the airport as an operating airport and took whatever steps are necessarily to enable the airport businesses and users to market and develop the airport to make the important contribution to the City. Most other cities in the world that have two airports like Edmonton have treated their downtown airports as opportunities not threats.

Edmonton should do the same.
